Who am I?

Well, I am an ordinary person who, several years ago, got angry and decided to set up a brand new organization – Speaking Up  - to help people with disabilities to find their own voice and claim control over their life.

Speaking Up now works with over 3000 people each year and employs over 100 around the UK.

I am also one of 35 Social Enterprise Ambassadors supported by the UK Government.

Why `Naked’?

My life as a social entrepreneur has seen as many low-points as triumphs and as many cock-ups as brilliant strategic masterstrokes!

That’s the `Naked’ bit - telling it `warts and all’, rather than as a `glory-story'.

I think it is as important to put yourself up as an example of what not to do as some kind of super-hero.

Why I wrote a book

To help emerging social entrepreneurs was the inspiration behind my new book `Your Chance to Change the World – the No Fibbing Guide to Social Entrepreneurship’. I spoke to 25 other social entrepreneurs who share their wisdom.
